How to delete Magento Cache by FTP

Sometimes Magento can return unexpected errors after installing extensions or some code changes.

If you can no longer access to your site delete everything inside:

/var/cache
Code language: JavaScript (javascript)

  • It might be worth mentioning that if you have our full-page caching utility installed (Lightspeed), a similar method to clear cache is used (if you have files set as you cache storage method). Simply clear the contents of this folder:

    var/lightspeed

For a caching performance far beyond the defaults included in magento community edition, here’s a link to our caching utility – Lightspeed (http://www.tinybrick.com/improve-magentos-slow-performance.html)
